September 2026 Trading

September was a rather frustrating month for me. I made a few mistakes that cost me in one way or another. I misread the account summary in my brokerage and ended up using margin that I did NOT want to do. Margin is perfectly fine for those who want to use it, but I don’t want to at this time.

It also meant that I had a small margin call and a couple of close calls.

And I made a few other mistakes, for example, I mistakenly bought calls instead of selling covered calls on DKNG and NOK. So I put in orders to sell them. The DKNG expired worthless but I was able to capture a profit on the NOK.

I also entered an earnings play on COST, but it wasn’t profitable, HOWEVER, I was able to convert it to an iron condor and reduced the amount of loss far more than just closing out the position, but then there was a margin call, so I ended up closing the position.

I did a couple of different 14 DTE put spreads on RUT. One had a small profit and the other was at risk so I closed it.

I sold my SGOV and used it to buy more TSPY. The main reason being I can have four TSPY for every SGOV and they pay about the same.

I never know how much detail anyone wants, so if you want more detail about the trades, drop a comment.
